What if my spouse won’t come with me to marriage counseling?
It’s good if you both come together the first time, but if your spouse won’t come with you, come by yourself. Often, when your spouse sees you going to counseling alone, and begins to notice your changes, he or she will decide to come with you.
Do you take sides when a couple comes to counseling?
“When the two of you come to counseling, there are 3 of you in the office—you, your spouse, and your marriage. I stand on the side of your marriage and your family. I objectively look for destructive patterns, and provide effective interventions to help your marriage heal. We work together as a team to achieve healing and I give you the tools you need to keep it strong.” —Pam Stowers
